Put Youtube movies on your iPod
A couple of times a week, I browse through YouTube and download some tricks of the latest "must see" movies on my iPod to share with my wife (who simply do not have the patience to wade through all the skateboarding, playground fights , and "teen" diaries). It used to be a bit 'a task to download and convert these videos, but in recent months, a stream of small print applications help on the Internet.
I actually intended to circumventrecommendation of some of the YouTube download programs here, but every time I sat down to start writing I realized that as a Mac user, it is difficult for me to recommend a program for most of my readers, for Windows users. Yesterday, Lifehacker recommended a website to download a Flash not only YouTube video, but also take to the choice of five different formats, including MP4 iPod. Vixi.net 's Online FLV Converter is extremely easy to use and workdirectly from your browser. Enter the URL of the webpage of the video, select the format you want to convert and press the Start button. Download and conversion are surprisingly quick and when it is completed Vixie automatically downloaded to your computer. Simple.
There is a wealth of good content on YouTube, but claims and DMCA take-down notices mean that any given video can disappear at any time. With a local copy of the video means that there willno access or YouTube removed the video from their website. And if you convert the video into MP4 format, you can put on your iPod, too.
There seems to be in compliance with the terms of YouTube until they distribute the videos to others, and retain the copyright to any of the files (see sections 2A and 4).
There are two excellent free services, to download YouTube videos to your hard drive, connect to MP4format and add it to iTunes. For Windows users, try iTube, available here. Mac users must use PodTube, but requires the use of Safari.
If you just want to access and view the file directly (the VLC media player to play flash video files) and / or convert it to another file format, you can download Firefox using a YouTube video or try Oyoom extension called Video Downloader. We also wrote our own tools to download videos from YouTubeavailable on this page, and is also below. Insert a YouTube video URL and press the button "Get Video" button.
When the flv video. Hard drive, watch it with VLC or convert to another format. For Windows users, try Replay Converter. For Mac users we recommend iSquint. There are also some services online file conversion, but not as reliable as desktop software and you must wait for both upload and download.
